Emma Boyle

Owner of EB fitness – Online fitness coach.

I’m a 23 year old recent graduate that in her 20s found a love for exercise & making myself feel GOOD.

I love connecting, meeting new people and helping them feel their best self through being an online fitness coach, in person personal training & group coaching.

Outside of coaching I love dogs, holidays, reading and caramel iced lattes (typical I know, but it is true).

I understand what it is like to be busy and needing to juggle lots of plates but also hit my personal fitness goals, so I am here to help!

Barbell Squat - Coaching points

hamstring, quads, calves...

To successfully complete a squat , start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and your toes pointing very slightly outward.

Keep your core tight and your chest up as you begin to sink down bending at the knees and hips, as if you are sitting back onto a chair.

Make sure to keep weight on your heels and push your knees out as you descend, making sure to keep your back straight and your head facing forward. Aim to get your thighs parallel to the ground before pushing through your heels to stand back up.

Remember to breathe throughout the movement and to start with lighter weights until you have mastered proper form.

Lat Pull down - Coaching points

Latissimus dorsi (lats)

The lat pull down is a popular exercise in the gym that primarily targets the latissimus dorsi muscles (back muscles).

To perform the exercise, sit at the machine with your feet flat on the ground and grab the handle with your palm facing away from you. As you pull the bar down towards your chest, focus on engaging your back muscles. Pause briefly at the bottom of the movement (bar closest to your chest) before slowly releasing the bar back up to the starting position.

It’s important to choose a weight that allows you to maintain proper form throughout the exercise and to avoid using momentum or jerking movements. Incorporating the lat pull down into your workout routine can help improve overall back strength and posture.

Bulgarian Split Squat - Coaching points

quads or glutes

The Bulgarian split squat aka the devil is a challenging exercise but a great exercise that can help build lower body strength and stability.

To perform the exercise, stand facing away from a bench or platform with one foot resting on top of it and the other foot planted firmly on the ground.

Slowly lower your body down towards the ground by bending your front knee and keeping your torso upright (quad focused). However, when doing glute focused we will slightly lean forward from the hips.

Focus on maintaining a stable core throughout the movement. Pause briefly at the bottom of the movement before pushing back up to the starting position.

It’s important to choose a weight and bench height that allows you to maintain proper form and to avoid letting your knee cave in or your back arching. Incorporating the Bulgarian split squat into your workout routine can help improve balance, coordination, and lower body strength. Grow a peach.
